The Record Management Application (RMA) for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 is designed to enable certification with the Department of Defense 5015.2 (Chapters 2 and 5) standard. This software application package is currently under development and planned for release in 2010.
The Department of Defense 5015.2 Standard is the result of several process improvement initiatives conducted by the Department of Defense. These efforts were primarily directed at improving the preservation of official records in accordance with applicable Federal laws. The DoD 5015 standard has become a widely adopted standard for records management applications in both government and commercial organizations.
The Gimmal RMA will add the additional DoD 5015.2 required functionality to SharePoint 2010 to enable it to comply with and be certified in accordance with the Standard. Once the certification is completed, the Gimmal RMA will be listed on the JITC Product Register.
