February 13, 2007
Combined Services for Implementing Enterprise Content Management Solutions Will Facilitate Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Deployments
Dallas and Houston, TX - Gimmal Group, a leading provider of services and strategies for deploying enterprise content and electronic records management, today announced an alliance with Geniant, a leader in architecting and deploying real-time, transparent IT platforms. Gimmal Group and Geniant will combine forces to deliver planning, integration, and implementation services related to the release of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
The agreement will combine Gimmal Group’s Enterprise Content Management Planning & Strategy services with Geniant’s User Experience and Information Architecture services, Enterprise Infrastructure services, and deep SharePoint expertise. The combined services will help customers solve the problem of managing enterprise content which includes documents, images, e-mail, and web content. The partnership will focus on three basic areas for client engagement:
Enterprise Content Management Planning & Strategy services enable decision makers to justify and effectively plan the rollout of document and records management solutions incorporating SharePoint Server 2007 technology. The emphasis of these services is to establish a broader program, assess existing technologies, and define a program and return on investment to establish the concepts of capturing working business documents in a structured manner so that they can more readily become corporate electronic records.
User Experience Design and Information Architecture services create business value by helping companies design SharePoint Server 2007-based systems with a user-centered approach. This approach explores the interactions between a system’s users in terms of experiences — experiences that both support a company’s business goals as well as respond to an individual's needs, desires, and behaviors. The result is systems that are easier to use, have lower support costs and higher adoption rates, and enable greater employee productivity.
Enterprise Infrastructure services ensure that an organization’s underlying infrastructure components, such as directory services, messaging systems, systems management, and networking systems are in place to optimize SharePoint Server 2007 implementations.
"We established the partnership to combine each company’s strengths,” said Michael Alsup, Founder and President of Gimmal Group. "We will be able to provide customers with a unique mix of talent, knowledge, skills, and services to improve their ability to deploy successful electronic records management and content management solutions that integrate with their broader IT platforms.”
“We’re seeing a growing demand from our enterprise portal clients to link disparate repositories of all kinds. Enterprise content management is becoming a way to consolidate access to these repositories,” said David Lancashire, CEO Geniant. “Gimmal Group’s tremendous depth in implementing ECM solutions and Geniant’s expertise in User Experience, Information Architecture, and Enterprise Infrastructure together provide a strong foundation to capitalize on this demand.”
“The Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 platform offers compelling new capabilities for addressing many of the technology issues related to effective enterprise content management,” said Kevin Castillo, Manager, Enterprise Partner and Solution Sales, Microsoft. “Gimmal Group and Geniant are service providers who understand how to guide an effective program and have the depth of IT experts to drive successful implementations.”
